Your Venue: What To Look For
Are you searching for the perfect venue for your event but don’t know where to start? Are you not sure what it is that you’ll be needing? I’ve performed at hundreds of different locations for all different kinds of events. Here’s a few things I’ve noticed.
Venue Size & Space
When looking for a venue, you need to look at how much space you will be needing. There’s nothing worse than not having enough room for your guests to socialize, dance or even park their cars. When taking this into account, don’t forget to add in tables, seating, decor and the DJ booth. Get your guest list squared away and then look at the numbers. You can call ahead to a venue and see what their capacity level is and go from there. Obviously you don’t want to try to shove 100 people into a venue that can only cater 75 at a time.
Venue Location
When deciding on your location, there’s a few things to take into consideration. Such as, what will be convenient for your guests’ travel abilities? Is catering available at this location or will there need to be food delivered? What’s the nearest transportation available for guests? In Kansas City, the options are endless. There’s tons of hidden gems scattered throughout this city. Check out this website to find and compare venues all over Kansas City. https://www.wedding-spot.com/wedding-venues/Missouri/Kansas-City/
Budget
One of the most important things to take into consideration is your budget. How much can you really afford? Come up with a rough draft before signing any contracts with a venue. I recommend comparing prices of your favorite venues and then adding in everything else you’ll be needing. You don’t want to find out closer to your event that you can’t afford things like decor or even your DJ.
